18" Parian or China, German circa 1860, this very unusual molded head doll is very hard to classify, as it is either a parian with unusually so-called "soapy bisque" with a high sheen, or it is a dull glaze finished china, the overall effect is lvoely, and she has blond molded hair and a beautiful molded snood and molded aqua blue and white hair bow edged in gold luster, the shoulder plate features 3 stringing holes in front & back, there is a small chip at the outer right front edge of the shoulder plate with 2 very tiny old hairlines extending from it, the body is a antique and an appropriate replacement, it is cloth with wide hips and has lovely leather lower arms, the clothes are antique and have been added and include a dress, pale aqua apron and socks, and old leather shoes $585

17" German Untinted Bisque ("Parian") Shoulderhead, German, circa 1870's (tag from original family states "I was born in 1873), attributed to the Durnheim, Koch & Fischer porcelain factory (see page 98 of Lydia Richter's book on parian dolls), perfect head, original cloth body, antique replacement crackle glazed hina limbs (from the family; were obviously replaced very early during the doll's "life"), small chip on tp of left molded pink boot, elaborately molded and painted blouse, pierced ears, painted eyes, from the estate of Janet Seely (born 1909) of NY, wearing antique clothes was $1,275 now on Sale $975.

German, circa 1875, from the collection of Dorohtea
H. Williams of Pennington, NJ, a nearly identical head (but with glass eyes)
is featured on page 91 of Lydia Richter's book China, Parian, & Bisque German
Dolls and is attributed to the "Meissen Genre" of the Dornheim, Koch,
& Fischer firm of Thuringia, Germany, super head with light brown molded hair
and featuring brush stroking around face, visible "comb marks" molded
in hair, elaborately molded hairstyle featuring blue band with pink ribbon in
hair, painted eyes, pierced ears, very deep and elaborately decorated shoulder
plate featuring pink and gold luster molded ribbons and other molded and painted
embellishments, original cloth body with unusual leather antique arms, featuring
faint patent date on body, super clothes which are either antique or made very
well from antique materials $2,950.

original cloth body with leather hands featuring separately stitched fingers,
appropriately dressed from old materials, from the collection of Dorothea
H. Williams of Pennington, NJ (2-16-28 until Fall '02) $1,750.

21" Parian, German, circa 1870-1880, was unable to find this gorgeous and
rare head model in any of my books, rare elaborately molded brown hair
with molded ribbon in front and molded hair clip in back, deep and very
pale shoulder plate featuring 3 stringing holes in front & back, blue
painted eyes, slightly upturned lips on closed mouth, lovely serene
expression, original homemade cloth body, dark grey original leather lower
arms are frail, great funky big feet and red leather original shoes,
clothes appear to be original as well, I am in love with this doll, much
more striking in person $3,850

German, circa 1880, originally owned by Pauline A. Chapman (1900-1990) of Kennett
Square, PA, blond molded hair of the type known as the "American Schoolboy"
style, wearing original sewn-on military costume, blue paperweight eyes, feathered
brows,
closed mouth, original kid or cloth body (has not been undressed, so
body material is difficult to determine) with bisque lower arms, slight bit of
extra red blushing on right cheek, lovely condition was $895 now on Sale $595 .
