Adora Dolls
The Adora doll company was founded during the 1990's in New Jersey and was primarily a manufacturer of porcelain collectible dolls for almost a decade. In 1999 the company debuted a line of vinyl dolls which were so beautiful that they could be easily mistaken for their porcelain counterparts. In elaborate costumes with adorable faces, these dolls became an immediate success. "We place a strong emphasis on our design process so we can create dolls that consumers will take home and truly love," says company president David Lin. "Our primary focus is to create dolls that collectors connect with." Debra's Dolls is now carrying the Name Your Own Baby line of Adora dolls. These dolls are 20" in height and weigh approximately 3 pounds each.

producing the Patsy Family dolls from 1928 onwards. We will be selling modern
versions of Patsy, Patsyette, and Wee Patsy at our shop. These dolls are not reproductions,
but rather reissues by Effanbee, using the original circa 1928 molds. Our offerings
include Beach-time Patsy, Kitty Keepsake, Little Orphan Annie, Little Flapper,
and more.

and is today headquartered in Edison, NJ. From the beginning, GUND has

cuddly selection of plus dolls which Debra's Dolls is now pleased to carry
in our store. GUND dolls are entirely made of cloth and are safe for ages
birth & up.
Vogue
The Vogue
Doll Company was founded in 1922 by Jennie Graves. One of Jennie's earliest offerings
was the Just Me Doll, which was imported from Germany and costumed in original
designs at her Medford, MA store. Vogue later achieved wide fame when they debuted
the Ginny Doll in 1951. The doll was named after Jennie's own daughter, Virginia.
Fortunately, Vogue has re-issued both of these popular dolls, and we are proud
to stock both of them at our store. We also currently have an assortment of circa
1970's old store stock Ginnys available, all mint in the box. For more info visit
our Vintage Dolls page.
Lee
Middleton This
contemporary doll company, founded in 1978, already has a large fan base among
today's collectors. We are focusing on Lee Middleton's "Classic Miniatures"
and "Children of the World" lines, because we feel that these dolls
best embrace the style of dolls produced 100 years ago. Specifically, we will
have miniature dolls available which represent various countries and cultures,
including Japan, Korean, Thailand, Indian, and Hawaii. We will also be offering
classic storybook characters from this company, including Alice in Wonderland
& Robin Hood.
Madame
Alexander Debra's
Dolls is now a distributor for Madame Alexander Dolls. The Madame Alexander doll
company has been in business since 1923, though the Alexander sisters were designing
dolls and clothing as early as 1912. These newly produced Alexanders, being offered
by Debra's Dolls for the very first time, have been hand-selected by Debra for
their classic and timeless appeal. Our focus is on ""trunk dolls"
and dolls with a "retro" or vintage look. We have many dolls in stock
now, with additional shipments arriving all summer. Madame Alexander play dolls,
collectible dolls, baby dolls, and dolls for all occasions including christenings,
birthdays, holidays, and more are currently available. Please check out our Madame
Alexander Page for more details and pictures. Kathe
Kruse "A
child for the child" was one of Kathe Kruse's mottos. Kathe was born Katharina
Simon in Germany on Sept 17th, 1883, and started making dolls for her own children
during her mid-twenties. Her dolls were like miniature children- soft, warm, and
with age-appropriate features. Around 1908-1910 Kathe Kruse began producing her
dolls commercially, and the Kathe Kruse Doll Company (now a division of EuroToys)
has been in business for over 80 years. These dolls really hold their value. Antique
Kathe Kruses sometimes sell for over $10,000 today. Modern Kathe Kruse dolls are
just as cuddly and charming as their predecessors, but typically retail between
$50 and $1,000. We have a large selection of Kathe Kruse doll accessories and
teddy bears in stock as well. North
American Bear Company
This
company was founded in 1978 by Barbara Isenberg. Several years earlier, she enlisted
the help of a friend to make a nostalgic bear for her son out of an old sweatshirt.
Barbara still works as the Creative Director for NABCO, which now has international
distribution. We specialize in NABCO's whimsical all-cloth topsy-turvy storybook
dolls, which are safe for young children and encourage their imagination.
We are willing
to special order dolls from any of the companies listed above, so please contact
Debra if there is a particular doll you are looking for. Also feel free to
email Debra with suggestions on doll
companies and artists that you would like to see offered at our shop.
