20 ½” German Bisque Turned Shoulder Head Doll, unmarked, circa 1885, attributed to Alt, Beck & Gottschalck, blue sleep eyes, painted upper & lower lashes, feathered brows, closed mouth, cluster of specks on forehead, replaced blond mohair wig, shoulder head turned slightly to one side, on antique cloth body with leather arms, arms have been reattached (possibly replaced) and have old mends, antique underclothes, ecru dress made from old fabrics and lace, doll also has a matching hat (not shown) $325.

14” Kestner Pouty Shoulder Head, German, circa 1880, marked with size number ‘5’ only, blue sleep eyes, feathered brows, closed pouty mouth, tiny nose rub, replaced brown human hair wig, pate missing, on antique (original?) cloth body with leather upper arms & bisque lower arms, right thumb missing, two chips on fingers of left hand, body has discoloration and some small patches, lovely dress made from antique materials, super antique straw hat has been added, reproduction shoes $525.

16 ½” French-Type Belton #137 in Original Clothes, German for the French Trade, circa 1875-1880’s, very desirable mold number with a strong French look, brown paperweight eyes, heavy feathered brows, small chip lower right eye rim, small paint smudge middle of right eyebrow, open/closed full mouth with white space between lips, original jointed composition body, some wear at knee joints (and remainder of body not inspected because clothes are too delicate to remove), replaced brown human hair wig, stunning original peach Bebe dress, dress itself is sturdy but lace trimming is very trail and falling apart, original frail matching peach leather shoes, from the collection of Doris Hill $1,975.

13 ½” All-Original Marotte, German, made for the French trade, circa 1880, stunning unmarked bisque head with flange neck, head is possibly a Belton-type but original brown human hair wig is glued in place & therefore top of head not visible, bulgy blue paperweight eyes, feathered brows, closed mouth, few tiny specks near lips, small rub left cheek, on original black wooden handle and with original costuming, marotte still plays music when held by stick and spun around. 8 ¾” All-Original Pair of Painted Bisque Dolls, German, circa 1920’s-1930’s, well preserved paint which is not fired into the bisque, original five piece composition bodies also featuring near-mint original paint, boy doll has pinpoint rub on left check, both dolls have bright blue sleep eyes and retain their original brown mohair wigs and original provincial costumes, the boy is unmarked, the girl is illegibly marked $265 .

15 ½” Mystery Doll, German, circa 1880, marked only with size number 7 at rim, possibly by Kestner, open mouth with square cut teeth which is so typical of the Kestner firm, brown glass eyes which have been set stationary, thick feathered brows, two specs and one slightly raised mold pimple on right eyebrow, painted upper and lower lashes, original light reddish brown mohair wig, original thicker pate (doesn’t appear to be plaster, perhaps a thicker cardboard), immaculate fully jointed composition body, small flake of compo at one upper thigh, adorable antique lavender dress and underclothes, antique socks, shoes have been made for the doll, great cabinet size $595.
