20 ¼” & 23 ¾” All-Original Papier Mache Griener Pair/Twins, made in Philadelphia, circa 1872, paper labels missing,  identical molded hairstyles, hair repainted on larger doll, original cloth bodies (length varies but style the same for both dolls), original clothes, rick rack trim added to both dresses, overall wear $695 PAIR.


14" All-Original Composition Peddler Doll

14" All-Original Composition Peddler Doll, German, circa 1880-1900, shoulder head made of composition or papier mache (hard to determine) and depicts an adult woman with blue sleep eyes (they are currently stuck in the stationary position), feathered brows, open mouth with teeth, very unusual white mohair wig, features are a bit worn & rubbed (slight line of lip color extends onto cheek area), original cloth body, exceptional original clothes (note woven straw bonnet and shoes, which are both very elaborate and unique), comes with her original basket of antique miniature wares, including tiny scissors, sewing goods, and a darling antique Frozen Charlotte doll (missing one arm), from the collection of Dorothea H. Williams of Pennington, NJ (2-16-28 until Fall 2002), a rare find. Was $2,500 now on sale $1,750.

14" All-Original Papier Mache Twins, German, circa 1880-1890, made in Germany, circa 1880-1890, molded hair, blue papierweight eyes, original cloth factory bodies with molded boots (one pink, one blue), toes are chipped off of both dolls and faces exhibit wear and some chipping around the eye openings, clothes are original, darling pair $1,650

 

18 ¼” All-Original Papier Mache Milliners Model

18 ¼” All-Original Papier Mache Milliners Model, German, circa 1820-1860, aqua blue painted eyes, closed mouth, original paint throughout including well preserved lip and cheek color, black molded hair featuring molded braided bun and molded black hair comb, delicate brushstroke painted curls around face, doll has sustained some hairline cracks to face with extend from a ½” area of the head which has been re-glued, another crack extends from this piece to the back of the head (touching the molded comb) and there are some chips near the regaled piece, crazing on shoulder plate as well, on its original large typical narrow kid leather body with wooden lower arms and legs, original (frail) clothes, doll has a rare hairdo and is very desirable and appealing in spite of its flaws, from the collection of the late Shirley Shalles of PA $1,875.

14 ½” All-Original Papier Mache Milliners’ Model, German, circa 1820-1860, elaborate black molded hairstyle with upswept side wings and braided bun, brown painted eyes, un-retouched features, overall fine crazing to face & shoulder plate, some wear in hair, on original kid leather body with typical wooden lower limbs, right leather leg has break in leather on upper thigh but is not leaking sawdust, doll retains original blue painted paper bands at upper legs but red paper bands on upper arms are replaced, blue painted flat slippers, some wear to wooden ankles, retaining lovely original outfit including green dress and undergarments, reproduction hat has been added, from the collection of Doris Hill $1,495.
