How do I go about
buying a doll off of the web site?
Email Debra or phone
(856) 478-9778 anytime. The phone rings both at the shop & at
our private residence; your calls are always welcome. Please read
our Terms of Purchase before ordering
a doll or contacting Debra. Debra's Dolls does not currently offer
a secure order form on the site, preferring to handle orders via
email or telephone.
I am trying to decide if I should buy a doll from your site. Can you email me additional photographs?
Additional photographs of any doll for sale on our site are available upon request, and we are also happy to answer your questions. However, do know that this takes time, so please, serious inquiries only. It is wise to decide if you can afford to make the purchase prior to requesting additional photographs and other things which require time and research.
Will I be charged
sales tax?
We are only required to collect sales tax on orders shipped
to the state of New Jersey. All other orders will not be charged
sales tax. New Jersey state sales tax is 7 percent.

How do I put a doll on layaway?
Email Debra to discuss
layaway payment options on any doll that you are interested in purchasing.
Layaway is available for up to one year, and prices are firm on
all layaway purchases. You can make payments by mailing a check
or money order to Debraís Dolls monthly or by providing Debra
with your credit card number, so that equal payments may be charged
to your card each month. Layaway payments are due by the end of
each month. You will receive a detailed receipt when your deposit
is made, and an additional receipt (listing all payments) when the
doll is paid for in full. For more information, read our Terms
of Purchase.
Where are layaway
dolls kept while payments are being made?
Dolls on layaway stay at Debra's Dolls until they are paid
for in full.
Most of the time,
layaway dolls are wrapped and stored in a locked cabinet in the
house. Typically the dolls are packaged in bubble wrap, but acid
free tissue paper may be used in addition, on request. Sometimes,
layaway dolls remain in a locked showcase in the shop, with a
sold tag indicating that they are no longer available for sale.
All of the dolls at Debra's Dolls, including those on layaway,
are fully insured, and Debra's Dolls has an advanced burglar alarm
system and smoke detectors, plus three watch dogs! It is also
important to note that we have a smoke-free home and shop.

I have a doll on
layaway, but am unable to continue making payments.
What do I do?
Let Debra know that you will need to cancel the layaway. You
will receive a credit for the amount already paid, and will have
30 days to select an item currently in inventory of equal or lesser
value to that amount. For more details regarding our layaway policy,
refer to the layaway contract that you were furnished upon purchase
of the doll, or to our Terms of Purchase.
Are these your
"best" prices?
Though prices are firm on all layaway purchases, Debra's Dolls offers a discount on outright purchases of antique dolls. A typical discount is 10%, though sometimes a greater discount can be offered. We can not offer as great as a discount if the order is paid for with a credit card, due to processing fees. In fairness to all, we offer the same discount to collectors as we offer to other dealers. Always inquire as to the "best price" on any doll. New play dolls for sale are already listed at 10% below suggested retail price, and therefore cannot be discounted further unless we are running a special promotion.

Do you have gift
certificates?
Yes, you can purchase a gift certificate in any amount from
Debra's Dolls.
What guarantee do
I have that the doll is as described?
Debra's Dolls has a reputation for honesty and integrity. Debra
Gulea determines the condition of each doll after a careful inspection
of the doll with a black light, fluorescent light, and magnifying
lens. Any damages or repairs to the head or body are noted on the
web site, on the price tags in our shop, and on your receipt upon
purchase. Debra is a dealer with ten years of experience, a UFDC
apprentice judge, a member of NADDA, and a researcher who has published
articles in Antique Doll Collector and Doll Reader magazines. Debra
Gulea is qualified to accurately assess the age, attribution, and
physical condition of the antique dolls she sells. Debra's Dolls
adheres to NADDA's Code of Ethics, and
NADDA has an ethics committee in place to mediate any disputes should
they arise. In the unlikely event that a doll is found to be at
odds with its description, the doll may be returned to Debra's Dolls
within three days for a full refund minus shipping expenses. For
more information on our sales policy, go to Terms
of Purchase.

How do I go about
selling my doll?
Debra's Dolls is always interested in buying one doll or an
entire collection. We also buy antique doll clothing, doll furniture,
doll houses, shoes, accessories, and out-of-print doll books.
Because we are in the business of selling dolls, we do not pay
full retail value for any doll. However, the prices we pay are
very generous & competitive. We buy dolls outright, so you
don't have to wait for your money. Debra Gulea does not buy dolls
via mail order. If you have a doll or collection that you would
like to sell, email Debra to arrange a time to bring your merchandise to the shop for consideration.
Do you
accept dolls on consignment?
Debra's Dolls is now accepting dolls on consignment on a limited
basis. Please contact debra@debrasdolls.com for more information.
