Frequently
Asked Questions ShippingBack
to FAQ Home How
will the doll be packaged & shipped?
Dolls
that have sleep eyes (eyes that open and close) will have their wigs removed and
the inside of their heads packed with tissue paper to secure the eye rockers during
transit. Dolls with sleep eyes that also have solid dome heads will have their
heads removed & then packed with tissue paper (email
Debra if this concerns you). Diapers are placed over the head to provide padding,
the entire doll is wrapped in bubble wrap, and placed face down inside a cardboard
box lined with Styrofoam peanuts or other suitable packing materials. Due to the recent increase in shipping rates, we no longer routinely double-box antique dolls for shipment; if you would like to have your doll double-boxed for added protection, please request this at the time of purchase, and be prepared to pay a higher shipping fee. We highly recommend that all parcels are insured.

you ship dolls outside of the United States?
Yes. We are happy to ship
dolls all over the world. International orders are sent via US Air Mail. We have
shipped many dolls to Japan, Germany, Australia, Canada, and other countries.
If you are an international buyer and have difficulty communicating in English,
Debra's husband Ioan is fluent in French and Romanian, and can also speak some
Italian. He is happy to assist you in purchasing a doll.
(Top
of page) How much
does shipping cost? This depends on your order, but shipping usually starts
at $20. Per doll (including insurance). We are happy to provide you with a shipping
quote on any item on the site. Will
my package be insured? All antique dolls, doll clothing, and accessories
sold off of the web site will be insured for full value, regardless of whether
they are shipped via UPS or US Priority Mail. Insurance is highly recommended
on international orders shipped through US Air Mail, but is not always possible,
depending on your country of residence. If you are an international buyer, email
Debra to find out if insurance is available to your home country, and to receive
a shipping quote. Insurance is optional on AS-IS dolls sold on EBAY, though it
is always advisable. Debra's Dolls is not responsible for any damage incurred
during shipping if you opt not to have your package insured. (Top
of page) Do you
ship dolls or clothing on approval? Debra's
Dolls does not ship antique dolls on approval, but routinely sends antique doll
clothing on approval so that you may try the clothing on your doll before you
buy. A credit card is required as a security measure. Shipping fees must be paid
regardless if the items are purchased or returned, and items must be returned
promptly, with insurance, received in the same condition as sent. (Top
of page) How do
I return a doll? If you purchased a doll from Debra's Dolls off of the
web site, and that doll is found to be at odds with its description, you may return
it within three days for a full refund minus shipping expenses. Please contact
Debra before returning any merchandise. And do read our Terms
of Purchase before buying. (Top

go about doing this? You are welcome to mail your doll to Debra's Dolls
for doll restoration services, but please contact
Debra in order to obtain a repair estimate prior to shipping. We can also
provide you with specific packing and insurance instructions at that time. For
more general tips on how to pack and ship dolls, enter
here. Do note that we do not accept dolls for consignment and/or sale via
the mail; we only buy and consign dolls in person, usually after they are brought
into our Mullica Hill, NJ shop.
