How long have you been online?
Debra's Dolls has been online since August 1998, though we have been selling dolls via mail order since 1990.

How often is the web site updated?
The website is updated on the first day of every month. Feel free to email us and inquire about dolls recently added to our inventory between updates.

Do you sell dolls on EBAY?
Although we have sold dolls on EBAY in the past, today Debra's Dolls infrequently offers dolls for sale on this (or any other) auction site. Our EBAY user ID is debrasdolls.com and we do maintain an EBAY About Me

How do I go about buying a doll off of the web site?
Email Debra or phone (856) 478-9778 anytime. The phone rings both at the shop & at our private residence; your calls are always welcome. Please read our Terms of Purchase before ordering a doll or contacting Debra. Debra's Dolls does not currently offer a secure order form on the site, preferring to handle orders via email or telephone.

Will I be charged sales tax?
We are only required to collect sales tax on orders shipped to the state of New Jersey. All other orders will not be charged sales tax. New Jersey state sales tax is 6 percent.

How do I pay with a credit card?
Because our site does not currently have a secure order form, you will need to call or fax Debra with your credit card information. Debra's Dolls accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, & American Express cards. Email Debra for details.

How will the doll be packaged & shipped?
Dolls that have sleep eyes (eyes that open and close) will have their wigs removed and the inside of their heads packed with tissue paper to secure the eye rockers during transit. Dolls with sleep eyes that also have solid dome heads will have their heads removed & then packed with tissue paper (email Debra if this concerns you). Diapers are placed over the head to provide padding, the entire doll is wrapped in bubble wrap, and placed face down inside a cardboard box lined with Styrofoam peanuts or other suitable packing materials. The box is then sealed & placed inside an additional box of peanuts or packing materials. Dolls are shipped via UPS and insurance is highly recommended.

Are EBAY dolls shipped the same way? What about doll clothing?
Because most of the dolls offered on EBAY are AS-IS dolls, sold without reserve, they are typically shipped via US Priority Mail and single-boxed. This keeps the shipping price low, keeping in line with the selling price of the doll. However, if the doll on EBAY is particularly valuable and/or fragile, it will be double-boxed & shipped via UPS or US Priority Mail. Doll clothing is usually shipped in a US Priority Mail envelope or box.

Do you ship dolls outside of the United States?
Yes. We are happy to ship dolls all over the world. International orders are sent via US Air Mail. We have shipped many dolls to Japan, Germany, Australia, CaNADDA, and other countries. If you are an international buyer and have difficulty communicating in English, Debra's husband Ioan is fluent in French and Romanian, and can also speak some Italian. He is happy to assist you in purchasing a doll.

How much does shipping cost?
This depends on your order, but shipping usually starts at $20. Per doll (including insurance). We are happy to provide you with a shipping quote on any item on the site.

Will my package be insured?
All antique dolls, doll clothing, and accessories sold off of the web site will be insured for full value, regardless of whether they are shipped via UPS or US Priority Mail. Insurance is highly recommended on international orders shipped through US Air Mail, but is not always possible, depending on your country of residence. If you are an international buyer, email Debra to find out if insurance is available to your home country, and to receive a shipping quote. Insurance is optional on AS-IS dolls sold on EBAY, though it is always advisable. Debra's Dolls is not responsible for any damage incurred during shipping if you opt not to have your package insured.

What guarantee do I have that the doll is as described?
Debra's Dolls has a reputation for honesty and integrity. Debra Gulea determines the condition of each doll after a careful inspection of the doll with a black light, fluorescent light, and magnifying lens. Any damages or repairs to the head or body are noted on the web site, on the price tags in our shop, and on your receipt upon purchase. Debra is a dealer with ten years of experience, a UFDC apprentice judge, a member of NADDA, and a researcher who has published articles in Antique Doll Collector and Doll Reader magazines. Debra Gulea is qualified to accurately assess the age, attribution, and physical condition of the antique dolls she sells. Debra's Dolls adheres to NADDA's Code of Ethics, and NADDA has an ethics committee in place to mediate any disputes should they arise. In the unlikely event that a doll is found to be at odds with its description, the doll may be returned to Debra's Dolls within three days for a full refund minus shipping expenses. For more information on our sales policy, go to Terms of Purchase.

Why should I visit the shop in Mullica Hill, NJ?
Debra's Dolls is the best place to buy an antique doll. Though you can view our current offerings and buy with confidence from our web site, a visit to the shop is a fun and relaxing way to purchase an antique doll. Because the shop occupies three rooms of our house, the atmosphere here is comfortable, and you can sit at a table and take all the time you'd like examining and contemplating your purchases. Let Debra demonstrate how to inspect dolls for damages and repairs using a black light, fluorescent light, and magnifying lens. Bring a doll you'd like to dress, and spend the day playing with our large selection of antique doll clothing & accessories (most of which is not shown on the web site). In addition to Debra's Dolls, there are over 30 antiques and specialty shops and multi-dealer antiques centers in Mullica Hill, all within walking distance on Main Street. Most of the shops are located in 18th & 19th century buildings and structures. For more information on historic Mullica Hill, visit the Mullica Hill web site.
